Katherine Natalie Heath has been designing jewelry since childhood, starting with simple beads and unique string bracelets for family and friends. In August 2009, Katherine’s creative style and love of accessories led her to launch her own jewelry line, Kates Design.
It began when Katherine discovered a bag of her great grandmother’s vintage buttons. As she tinkered with them she realized she was creating disinctive bracelets out of reclaimed and recycled materials; this realization turned a pastime into a passion.
Katherine’s ongoing search for vintage buttons has unearthed endless possibilities, resulting in beautiful and timeless designs. Kates Design offers high-end accessories that appeal to all styles and tastes.
Katherine believes strongly in giving back. After graduating from the University of Delaware in 2006 she volunteered at an orphanage in Zambia, Africa, where she taught English and HIV/AIDS awareness. Today a portion of every Kates Design sale is donated to Make A Difference NOW, an organization established to develop, promote, and support orphanages and schools so that disadvantaged children have a chance to rise above poverty.
